A specialist professional body built around two domains, one continuous cycle, and verified client engagement.
IAPCF sets the professional framework for mental toughness and mental wellness practitioners — and recognises how they apply it in real-world practice through membership.
Two Domains. One Goal.
Sustainable high performance can be built through either or both domains, depending on your interest and practice.
Mental Toughness
Focuses on composure, focus, confidence and adaptive coping under pressure — individually and as a team.
Mental Wellness
Focuses on recovery, emotional balance and lasting resilience in everyday life and work.
Some IAPCF members choose to specialise in one domain. Others integrate both. All are united by a shared commitment to ethical, non-clinical practice that supports people to show up at their best in school, work, sport and life.
The science of performing under pressure
without the burnout
Where the two domains meet is sustainable high performance, driven by a continuous cycle: Prepare, Perform, Recover, Repeat (PPRR™).
The PPRR® Cycle
IAPCF's signature model is adapted from research with Olympians, World Champions, CEO's, and high-performance individuals from various professional fields. It captures the rhythm behind sustained excellence — and it works across sport, education, and the workplace.
Prepare
Build the mental skills, plans, and routines needed before the moment of performance. Goal-setting, imagery, self-talk, and pre-performance routines.
Perform
Execute under pressure with composure, concentration, and confidence. Apply mental toughness strategies in competition, presentations, exams, or high-stakes moments.
Recover
Restore emotional balance, process setbacks, and rebuild energy. Recovery is where mental wellness practices — gratitude, reflection, self-compassion — take centre stage.
Repeat
Integrate learning, refine strategies, and re-enter the cycle with greater awareness. Sustainable performance is iterative, not linear.
How it applies across both domains
Mental Performance Track
Emphasises the Prepare and Perform phases — equipping individuals and teams with the mental skills to thrive under pressure. Imagery, concentration, adaptive coping, and confidence-building are core tools.
Mental Wellness Track
Emphasises the Recover and Repeat phases — helping people restore balance, build emotional resilience, and sustain wellbeing over time. Gratitude, positive reframing, self-compassion, and meaning-making are core tools.
IAPCF members apply the PPRR™ cycle in 1:1 coaching, group facilitation, and team workshops — adapting the emphasis to their clients' needs and their own credential track.
The Integrated Advantage: Coaching + Facilitation
Traditional associations tend to treat the individual and the group as isolated silos. We believe that greater impact happens when both are combined.
Coaching (Inside-Out)
Unlocks the psychological potential of the individual.
Facilitation (Outside-In)
Optimises the environment and dynamics of the team.
The IAPCF Practitioner bridges this gap, acting as a Performance Architect to ensure individual growth is never stifled by systemic friction.
Verified Client Engagement with the MZM App
The challenge every practitioner faces: how do you prove that your coaching leads to real engagement beyond the session? MyZone Mindset (MZM) is a purpose-built app that bridges this gap.
1:1 Coaching
Drive follow-through beyond the session. Assign exercises, track completion, and build a verified evidence trail of client engagement.
Group / Team Facilitation
Energise in-class participation. Use group exercises, visualisations, and team activities — all tracked within the MZM platform.
Your Professional Growth
Track verified contact hours for membership progression and CPD. Your practice activity feeds directly into your IAPCF professional record.
All client information remains secure and within a non-clinical scope.
IAPCF-Recognised Credentials
IAPCF recognises four credentials across two domains. Each is anchored to a specific framework, verified through client engagement, and maintained through continuing professional development.
